North Vancouver, British Columbia | GE XL44 Gas Oven. Model - JGBP34GEP1WH. 24 Years old.
Set oven to 350 deg. Oven usually heats up to 350 but sometimes does not get that hot. I swapped the broiler and bake igniters. Problem persists. I installed a new temperature sensor. Problem persists. Additional problems on heating:
Once oven heats up to 350 oven shuts off, temperature drops significantly before oven fires back on. On occasions when oven heated up to 350 and then shut off I also tried re-setting temperature to 375. Oven did not fire up again until temperature dropped significantly. | Repaired | Leamington, Ontario | Bake display - have difficulty making contact

Beeper sound barely audible | Repaired | SAN BERNARDINO, California | FAILURE CODE F1 FLASH AND BEEP | Awaiting receipt of timer | Fayetteville, New York | clean, broil and bake buttons not responding. | Replaced with reconditioned timer | Soulsbyville, California | Since a sudden power outage, oven will not come up to desired temperature, even with the user adjustable +35%F adjustment set. Immediately following the power outage, there was an F code on the display, but I can't recall what it was, but it cleared itself. I replaced the oven sensor, but that had no affect on the situation. If it is not repairable, and you do have reconditioned or new units available, we would be interested in that. | Repaired | voorhees, New Jersey | Oven heats but is about 100 degrees below proper temperature. I have changed the probe sensor but no change in result. | Repaired | Oakland Gardens, New York | When engaged, the screen defaults to 100 degrees on bake, then after a few seconds,
The temperature section goes blank. This occurs on both bake and broil | Awaiting receipt of timer | Aurora, Indiana | Oven baking temperature is always about 60 to 75 degrees F to cold. This is after having tried calibrating the display to heat up to 35 degrees hotter. It does help, but no where near needed.
Unsure if the Control panel is the problem. Below are the various tests I've done on other components.
Oven Sensor tests ok. At 1,065 Ohms of resistence
Gas igniter (round variety) seems to be working ok, pulling 3.0 - 3.3 Amps when lighting, and glowing a nice bright orange, almost white colored.
Gas safety valve seems to be ok, testing at 1 -2 Ohms of resistence. And lighting fairly quickly, withing 3-5 seconds of valve opening.
The only other thing I can think of, is somehow setting the baking burner to flow more gas, burning hotter, but I don't know how. And even so, if the thermostat still reads the temperature too low, burning hotter probably wouldn't help, as it will just shut off sooner .
Any help you could give would be much appreciated.
God Bless,
Daniel Clem | Awaiting receipt of timer | glenshaw, Pennsylvania | AFTER POWER OUTAGE - SHOWS CODE F1 | Awaiting receipt of timer | Soulsbyville, California | Following a sudden power outage, panel indicated a failure code which I can't recall. After fiddling with it, the code went away, but the oven would no longer heat up to desired temperature. Even with the user adjustable setting at +35, the oven still is 25-75 degrees F lower than indicated by timer. | Repaired | Lutherville, Maryland | IF YOU PUSH THE BAKE BUTTON AND SET THE TEMP FOR BAKING, THE CONTROL WILL GO TO 100 DEGREES (AS IT IS SUPPOSED TO). IF IT IS CORRECTLY WORKING, THE TEMPERATURE BEGINS TO INCREASE AS THE RANGE HEATS UP. HOWEVER, WHAT HAS BEEN HAPPENING IS AFTER 15-30 SECONDS, THE CONTROL WILL CLEAR AS IF THE BAKE BUTTON WAS NEVER PUSHED. THIS PROCESS HAS TO BE REPEATED OVER AND OVER UNTIL FINALLY THE PROCESS PROPERLY BEGINS OR, AS HAS BEEN HAPPENING MORE OFTEN, THE RANGE NEVER BEGINS TO HEAT. | Awaiting receipt of timer | Scotia, New York | Get F1 code and beeping sound. Was intermittent, but now all the time and timer will not work. | Beyond Repair | Brookline, Massachusetts | F1 displays and bell rings. Oven and broiler do not work. | Beyond Repair | Common problems for General Electric Gas Range JGBP34GEP1 Timer RepairAre you encountering a similar problem as them?
